IRS Tax Problems Tax Problems

Article by Don Parent

Every year millions of people face the Internal Revenue Service in some kind of adversarial exchange. While many cases involve simple issues that are easily resolved, too many escalate into significant or even overwhelming financial nightmares. It seems to always come down to a “them against us” situation! The latter occurs for one of two reasons. Either you did not understand how to approach the IRS, or just as likely the IRS made an error then failed to accurately instruct you on the rights available to you to correct it.

The IRS will take the heavy hand!!! It is easy for them to levy your bank account.

Unfortunately you will probably find this out the hard way. Most likely it is when your checks start bouncing. It is a shock and you will feel helpless.

At that point, STOP!!!

Do not buckle under! You have options and getting the correct help will give you back your accounts in less then 24 hours if you make the right moves.

It is important that you find the right Tax Attorney or CPA that will look out for your best interests. The IRS will not!!!

At this point don’t sign with the first tax attorney that you find. You will be in panic mode but, AGAIN STOP!!!!

Finding the best tax professional to help you may only take a few extra phone calls.

Nearly everybody has gone through some kind of IRS enforcement difficulty and we all know somebody who is going through it now. But few have effective solutions. Too often, professional advice from tax accountants is, "Well, it's the IRS. You just have to pay." If someone tells you that, smile and hang up. That is not the answer you want to rely on!!!!

Unfortunately, precious few tax consultants take the time to understand that there are solutions to every IRS problem. They want to process as many cases as possible whether they win or lose! Indeed, there is no such thing as a hopeless tax case. There is always a way to solve the problem. Find a tax consultant that is not over-loaded with cases as are the ones that advertise on TV, radio or other over exposed venues. Yes even the Internet.

Take the time to find a good local tax consultant. When I say local don’t go to one of the large TV or radio advertised outfits. They are clearing houses that turn you over to whoever they have working in their offices at that time. More then likely every time you call you will be directed to a different tax consultant each time. That is because the turnover rate is high.

Why a local Professional:

They don’t have to be in your backyard, but they should be within easy driving distance. Ask them why they can help you. Be sure that they have a real procedure to help you. Don’t take the easy listening approach.

If he or she asks you tough questions in return and explains the steps necessary to deal with your tax problems then most likely they are the tax consultants that you want. Make sure they have a serious plan on how to deal with your tax problems.

The tax attorney that finally fixed my tax problems was actually the one I liked the least. He made me work a little and deal with the situation. It was well worth it!!!
