Cremation Urns
What to look for in a funeral cremation urn
By Fabio Canna
We know that the most unwanted purchase for anyone is a casket or a funeral cremation urn for a person we love, but we all know we will have to do it someday. So, if unfortunately this is your turn here we present you some basic things you have to know to make the right buy.
If your loved-one decided to get his/her body cremated by the time of his/her death you have to respect his/her last wish and make sure this process is done efficiently. Something you have to know when you go to a funeral shop or cremation society is that when you decide not to buy the cremations urns they sell they will give you the ashes of your loved-one in a plastic bag or cardboard box. This might be shocking for anyone, but the truth is that most people decide to take this because there is actually no option on how much you spent on the cremation (they have different fees), you will get a cremation urn that looks like the urn of someone who paid half of the priced you paid.
Two important things you have to look for is an urn cremation that would have been chosen by your loved-one and at the same time that serves for the practical purposes you have for the ashes: What do you plan to do with them?
Actually there are many things to do with them as burying them, scattering them in the sea, keep them at home, put them in a mausoleum, divide them among relatives, organize a memorial service, among others.
In case you are going to travel with the run, you may choose a wood urn or marble urn or of any other material except metal, because it will not be accepted by the Transportation Security Administrations policies, since they have to pass through the control procedures as any other baggage, which means they have to pass the X-ray machine that is not able to screen clearly the content of the urn.
Finally, if the urn is going to be shown to relatives and friends of the diseased take into consideration a design with delicate and discrete finishing. And of course the price is a major concern, if the ashes will permanently stay with you, then investing a bit more in an urn that is able to keep the ashes safe and in good condition for a considerable period of time.
